Leslie Aizenman is an expert in refugee resettlement and integration. For thirteen years, she served as the director of refugee resettlement and integration at Jewish Family & Children Services, in Pittsburgh. In this capacity, she coordinated and oversaw refugee and immigrant services with the goal to empower and build self-sufficiency in Pittsburgh’s refugee and immigrant community. Leslie directed all departmental activities of the agency’s largest department including resettlement, employment, case management, peer support groups, volunteer programs and service coordination. She was responsible for oversight of staff, interns, volunteers and interpreters; assurance of culturally and linguistically sensitive client services; program creation, implementation and evaluation; writing and monitoring of departmental grants and activities related to such grants; and community outreach to build awareness/tolerance of immigrant communities. Leslie has a BA in Communications from Boston University and a Master of Public Policy and Management from the University of Pittsburgh.
